About Groove Tube

Groove Tube 7-piece function band are one of the most popular party bands in Cambridge, combining an intoxicating groove-infused mix of soul, funk, R&B, and contemporary dance music for weddings, corporate entertainment, and private parties.

The 7-piece function band creates an exciting sound for dancing, with both male and female harmonised vocals, a live horn section, guitar, keys, bass, and drums. And with options for background dinner-jazz before the main band, and a disco service afterwards, Groove Tube can provide all the musical entertainment for your event!

The band performs throughout the region including Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and London. The band is made up of professional and semi-pro musicians who together have many years of experience performing at formal occasions such as weddings and corporate events. This combination of great musicianship, vast experience, and professional approach will help to make your event a great success. And with a set list that includes popular dance hits from the past 50 years there should be music that everyone can enjoy and dance to, no matter what their age.

With our larger sound and lighting rig, the crew will arrive on site approximately 2-3 hours before the start of the performance, to move in the larger items and establish power points etc. Shortly after this the band will arrive to setup their own equipment and instruments. If time and venue permit we do a 10 minute soundcheck before the performance starts.

The performance is 2 x 60 minute sets with a 30-60 minute break between sets. In between sets we provide a disco playlist. We ask the client to include food and drink for the band and crew either before the start of the performance, or between sets. After the performance we take approx 90 minus to clear equipment away.

We can optionally provide a playlist disco during this period subject to negotiation. Please ensure there is parking on-site for the band (7 cars plus a van), and that an area is available for the band to put packing cases and to change clothes. During the break and prior to performance, the band will need an area to sit. This can be either in the same area as your guests, or in a separate area if you prefer.
